Persona 5 royal liquid mercury
Persona 5 has a great deal of crafting items that you'll find during your adventure of freeing peoples hearts.

However, today I'll be detailing how to gather one of the key craftable items you'll need for the eternal lockpick, which is easily one of the most helpful items in entirety of persona 5, as it basically acts as a reusable lock pick. You can also apparently get a “hold up” on anubis in battle and you'll be able to ask for an item directly, but I tried this for over half an hour with no luck -- so take that for a grain of salt. I've also heard you can pick up these items by defeating decarabia and ganesha in the okumara palace in the facilities passage and barracks area.

What craftable item will you need you wonder? (in-case you somehow missed the title of the article?) -- liquid mercury!
Where to go and what to look for
You can also find plenty of aluminum sheets as a ground item in mementos as well (another key item you'll need for the eternal lockpick).

How to craft the eternal lockpick
This lockpick will become extremely useful for high-level places which require more lockpicks. The number of lockpicks you can craft is based on the player's dexterity +1. So if for example you have a dexterity of 5, you'll be able to create a maximum of 6 lockpicks.
However the eternal lockpick is reusable, so you can already imagine just how beneficial that is. Before you can craft the enternal lockpick you'll need to raise your magician arcana to rank 6, so you can unlock the ace tools ability on the 29th of august. Once you've done this you should be able to craft the eternal lockpick at a work desk using 20 aluminium sheets and 10 liquid mercury.

How to get the eternal lockpick in persona 5: royal
What do you need, and where can you find those materials?
- Zack palm april 9, 2020
- Guides

Thieve’s tools are great to make your time in palaces and mementos much easier while playing persona 5: royal. When you level up the magician persona, morgana, enough, you can acquire more to use while you’re playing the game. A great one many will want to earn is the eternal lockpick.
You can earn it after you reach rank 6 with the magician persona. You can do this by continually hanging out with morgana and spending them with him when you have the opportunity to do so during your playthrough. If you have a magician-based persona on your character, you can level up your ranking, even more, when spending time with morgana to make it faster.
Once you reach the ability to access this weapon, you need a variety of materials to craft it.
- 20 aluminum sheets
- 10 liquid mercury
You can only obtain these materials in specific locations from particular enemies. You can receive aluminum sheets from anzu that show up in futaba’s palace and ganesha, which you can find in okumura’s spaceport. When you’re looking for liquid mercury, you can find it on anubis that are inside futaba’s palace and decarabia in okumura’s palace.
Of your choices, you may want to spend the most time searching for anzu and anubis that you can find inside of futaba’s palace. Because you can find them in the same location, you don’t have to run around the game so much, searching for different shadows to fight. However, these enemies have the potential to show up in mementos after you defeat them in the palace, so all’s not lost if you have already blown past these locations and don’t have the required items yet.
The eternal lockpick will solve a lot of your lockpicking problems, though. You won’t have to create any new lockpicks moving forward, and you can freely obtain any useful items stored behind the one you encounter. It’s an ideal item to have, so make sure to receive it when you have the opportunity.
Persona 5 royal - how to make an eternal lockpick
How to make an eternal lockpick
As its name suggests, the eternal lockpick is a reusable lockpick that allows you to open locked treasure chests in palaces or mementos. This saves you the trouble of making lots of the standard lockpicks at the work desk so you can devote more time to other matters.
When can you make an eternal lockpick?
You’ll need to have raised the magician arcana to rank 6 to unlock the ace tools ability on 8/29. This ability allows you to craft all infiltration tools, including the eternal lockpick. You can check out our guides on lockpicks and other infiltration tools.
Materials you need
To make an eternal lockpick, you’ll need 20 aluminum sheets and 10 liquid mercury. You can obtain both items from the shadows in futaba’s palace when it opens on 7/26. Some of the items can also be obtained in okumura palace.
Note the specific shadows below that drop the required materials to make the eternal lockpick.
Tips for fighting enemies that drop the required materials
- Anubis in particular uses very powerful spells that can quickly wipe out your entire party, so it is a good idea to frequently save when you’ve obtained any of the required materials from them.
- You must finish the battle by defeating the enemies. This will not count if you end the battle through negotiation.
How to easily make an eternal lockpick in persona 5 royal
Use jose’s cognition service (change mementos)
You can use stamps that you have collected in mementos to increase the number of eternal lockpick materials found while exploring them. Note that you must enter mementos on days of bad weather for aluminum sheets and liquid mercury to appear in the dungeons.
It is recommended to infiltrate mementos on 1/27 and 1/28 where the rate of aluminum sheets and liquid mercury is high.
Use the chariot confidant’s insta-kill ability in mementos
After leveling up the chariot confidant to level 7, you will acquire the ability insta-kill. This grants you a small chance to instantly win a battle after making contact with an enemy by dashing toward them. You will still gain experience, money, persona, and items normally this way.
Having the insta-kill ability allows you to quickly farm materials required for the eternal lockpick by quickly taking out enemies that drop them. During days of bad weather, hunt for anzu to get aluminum sheets in the memento’s path of akzeriyyuth and decarabia for liquid mercury in path of adyeshach (open after 10/30).

Persona 5 is full of polish, allure, charm — and more than 100 hours of gameplay. This guide and walkthrough will show you everything you need to know.
Are you sick of the anxiety that comes with running out of lockpicks in Persona 5? Well, then you may want to spend some extra time working toward the eternal lockpick, a infiltration tool with unlimited uses.
You will not be able to access this tool until you have completed several palaces and upped your social link with morgana. Once you have at least level six of the magician confidant, advanced infiltration tools will become available to you. However, just because you can build it doesn’t meant that you have the resources.
The eternal lockpick requires 20 aluminum sheets and 10 liquid mercury. It is entirely likely that you won’t even have one of the 10 liquid mercury needed when you begin your quest to build this thing. The regents are very rare and only drop off of a few enemies.
For the aluminum sheets, take down anzu and ganesha in futaba's palace and okumura’s spaceport respectively. For liquid mercury, kill anubis in futaba’s palace and decarabia in okumura's palace. Remember that if you hold enemies up, you can ask them for items. Keep in mind that many old enemies will appear in mementos after you compete their palaces. Aluminum sheet is easily gathered throughout mementos, often appearing in the little item boxes scattered around each floor. Liquid mercury is the real holdup here. You basically need to farm anubis enemies on floor 10 and 11 of the akzeriyyuth area. Keep defeating them, and eventually you will have enough for the eternal lockpick.
This will require a fair bit of grinding on your part to get, but think of all the time you will save if you never have to build another lockpick again.
How to build A perma-pick
Lockpicks are the only thing that can unlock those golden, shining treasure chests, but unfortunately they break after one use. This isn't a big problem for people who bought the new persona 5 royal DLC which gives you 10 lockpicks, but for people who don't have the money to spend and/or a reliable internet connection, what do you do?
Enter the perma-pick! It's the eternal lockpick from the original persona 5, but it can be made a lot earlier AND carries over to a new game+, which is great news.
To make a perma-pick, you'll need two ingredients:
Aluminum sheet x 20
liquid mercury x 10
You won't have a big problem finding 20 aluminum sheets, as that is a fairly common material that can be found throughout the game. The biggest problem is liquid mercury, because that's harder to find.
Thankfully persona 5 royal made it a lot easier to find. It will be in mementos, and you can find it as early as the end of kaitul, but I found liquid mercury in akzeriyyuth as well.
You're going to be relying on these cubes for liquid mercury:

It's the object in the red circle, you've seen them multiple times when you travel around mementos
Normally they only give you one item, and you don't always get materials. You can get loot from them too. Hunting them all over mementos one at a time can be time-consuming. Finding liquid mercury this way can be tough.
The good news is, there's a faster way. Grab your stamps and visit jose's shop in mementos. Choose to put your stamps into item rewards.

What this does is increase the number of items you can get from each cube. At first it will only be 1 additional item (that means you get 2 items per cube), but it can go all the way up to 11 additional items!
By increasing the number of items, you can pull more items from each cube you encounter in mementos.

This makes it much easier to farm liquid mercury by going from level to level, because you're more likely to pick up at least 1 liquid mercury per floor this way.
You can also farm liquid mercury from enemies as well, though it will be later in the game. Alternatively, you can buy liquid mercury from the computer parts store in akihabara and the yongen-jaya secondhand shop (though they only have 1 liquid mercury).
Once you've got what you need, return to your working desk and craft that perma-pick (or have kawakami make it for you)!
How the mementos stamps work and how to get them in persona 5: royal
Gather up stamps to modify your mementos journey.
- Zack palm april 9, 2020
- Guides

While you’re exploring mementos in persona 5: royal, you have the chance to find stamps that come from jose. He’s a new character to royal, and he provides you with some great opportunities you can use to help level yourself or earn money in the game.
You can find the stamps station all over a mementos. However, they primarily show up at the end of them when you descend a level. You want to make sure you always hit a stamps station whenever you see one. They also encourage you to explore a mementos level because you can find them behind breakable walls. There are 165 stamps in total, and their locations vary all over the game.
The stamps are a great way to modify how you play through a mementos and your overall goal for being there. For example, if your main objective to play through mementos is for your party members to level up, you can turn those stamps into jose, who will give you an experience point buff to whatever you do during that time. You can do this for money or the items dropped by the shadows. If you want to change what stamps you invested in a particular category, you can provide flowers to jose, who can reset it for you.
You want to take advantage of these stamps whenever possible. You can use them as an excuse to explore a floor for longer than you normally would, but don’t stay too long in one place, because there’s always the potential of a reaper to come to ruin your day.

Persona 5: the ultimate guide to crafting an eternal lockpick
The eternal lockpick is one of the most valuable items in persona 5. This guide includes all the steps you need to craft this awesome tool.
If you’ve gone through your entire persona 5 playthrough without having crafted an eternal lockpick, then do yourself a favor and turn on your PS4 (or PS3), slide that disc in and get ready to have some fun.
With this quick guide you’ll be able to make some in no time at all. If you’re wondering what an eternal lockpick is, it’s pretty much all in the name. As you go through the various palaces in the game – as well as momentos, you’ll notice that there are locked chests all over. In order to open these, a normal lockpick will do – but the eternal lockpick is much more convenient, as it is reusable.
The process itself in making the eternal lockpick isn’t all that complicated, but certain constraints can make it difficult to pull off. You likely won’t be gathering everything you need by accident, and need to know what you’re doing beforehand. Here’s the ultimate guide to crafting an eternal lockpick in persona 5.
5 raise the magician arcana to rank 6
The first step to crafting his useful and reliable item is increasing your confidant rank for the magician arcana. Putting time into confidants is always a good idea, as the perks they give you can greatly help out as the game progresses. Though in this case it’s an automated process, so you just need to wait a while. You’ll need to first reach rank 6 to kick things off. Rank 6 is when you unlock the ace tools ability that allows you to craft certain infiltration tools.
This happens on august 29 th , so fairly late into the game. There’s still plenty of time to get things done at this point, but if you’re going for the eternal lockpick then you might want to hurry up and turn your attention towards that as soon as the game allows it. That way you can focus your time on more crucial matters down the line.
4 get 20 aluminum sheets
One of the items necessary in crafting the eternal lockpick is aluminum sheets. In order to get things started you’ll need 20 of them. That may sound like a lot, but at this point in the game you should have already piled up quite a few in your inventory. Though it’s unlikely that you’ll have the necessary 20 without having put any focus on collecting them, you should still have enough to get started with.
Aluminum sheets are located in two palaces; futaba’s and okumura’s. There are two shadow’s that you’ll want to pick on in order to get this item; anzu for fuutaba and ganesha for okumura. Both appear fairly often in their respective palaces, so getting their drop item shouldn’t be all that hard. Though, with 20 being the magic number this could take some grinding. Remember that anubis can pretty much wipe your party out with some moves, so don’t get too comfortable. Save often, because it loosing all you’ve collected up to that point would really suck.
3 get 10 liquid mercury
The second key ingredient in crafting an eternal lockpick is one of the hardest to find in the entire game. If it wasn’t then things would’ve been much too easy for you. While it does add a bit of a challenge to the whole process and whatnot, getting your hands on 10 liquid mercury is a tiresome and at times annoying chore. Much like the aluminum sheets, you can find liquid mercury in the futaba and okumura palaces.
In fuutaba’s palace you’ll need to turn your attention to anubis. While in okumura’s palace, decarabia is the shadow that will give you what you want in terms of building materials. This can be a really annoying item to stock up on if you’re knowingly doing so, as it’s a bit of a rare drop. The best advice would be to start trying as soon as both aforementioned palaces are made available.
2 hold up enemies
Well now that we know what we need, it’s a matter of finding the most efficient ways of getting these materials. One thing that you should keep in mind is that you need to defeat your enemies in order to get these materials. Going into negotiation is a big no-no. It just won’t end up going how you want it if you’re trying to stock up because ending the battle through negotiation won’t have the items drop.
One alternative you can exploit rather easily is the hold-up mechanic. If you hold enemies up, you’ll be able to get items off of them. This is incredibly convenient for what we need and can offer a safer alternative to hoarding materials. Instead of dragging battles out, risking defeat and thus a loss of all your progress thus far, hold-ups allow you to get in and out with what you need.
1 check mementos
If you’ve completed any of the two palaces mentioned in this guide, and either haven’t collected enough aluminum sheets or – more likely – liquid mercury, then one thing you can do is head over to mementos. That’s because in mementos, old enemies will spawn giving you a second chance to collect the items you’re going to need when crafting.
All four of the previously mentioned shadows spawn in there. In fact, getting aluminum sheets in mementos is way easier than it is outside of it. You can get them in item boxes scattered along the area, which will come in handy. Getting liquid mercury here is tougher though, and requires you to farm anubis enemies over and over. It’s a tough and long process but one that’s worth it once you get your hands on that sweet, sweet eternal lockpick. No longer will you have to worry about running out and you are now the master of unlocking.
Persona 5 royal - infiltration tool material list
Infiltration tool materials
Materials are important ingredients used to craft infiltration tools. You can obtain them by looting shadows in palaces and mementos. Some materials are easier to obtain than others. You can also visit shops to purchase some of the more common drops in limited quantities. More often than not, you’re better off defeating shadows to craft a large supply of tools.
Below is a list of the shadows that drop materials for crafting infiltration tools. Locations of shops can be found under each table.

You can also purchase these at yumenoshima in yongen-jaya.
Tin clasp

Persona 5: leave no chest unlocked by crafting the eternal lockpick
Early on in persona 5, you'll gain access to a crafting station in the cafe leblanc attic through your social link with morgana. The tools you make there let you perform various actions, like instantly escaping from battle, open locked chests, or reducing the chance of random combat.
But one craft item that becomes available much later -- the eternal lockpick -- allows you to stop focusing on making so many exploration tools because it automatically unlocks everything you come across.
To craft this item, first you need to reach rank 6 with the magician confidant (your social link with morgana), which unlocks the ability to craft all of the various infiltration tools. Prior to reaching this magician confidant rank, you won't be able to build the eternal lockpick -- even if you have all the necessary ingredients. So that's where you should start.

The eternal lockpick crafting recipe in persona 5
After reaching magician confidant rank 6, you can craft the eternal lockpick with these two ingredients:
- Aluminum sheet x20
- Liquid mercury x10
Sounds simple, right? Well, not so fast. The drop rate for these elusive items is extremely low, and they only come from very specific shadow enemies found in certain locations within persona 5. You'll have to grind these enemies to get the required items:
- Aluminum sheets are dropped by anzu (found in futaba palace) and ganesha (found at okumura palace barracks)
- Liquid mercury is dropped by anubis (found in futaba palace) and decarabia (found at okumura palace facilities passage)
You'll want to save often when looking for these items because you don't want to lose the materials you've acquired due to a combat mishap! Once you've managed to gather the tools and actually get to crafting, keep in mind that the eternal lockpick doesn't carry over into new game+, although you can start farming for the ingredients again from the start.
And that's all there is to it. Just make sure you reach magician confidant rank 6 and get the items you need, and you'll be able to craft all the various infiltration tools.
